North East Aces Female Hockey Program

The North East Aces Female Hockey Program is pleased to announce the joint signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Tisdale Minor Hockey Association, Nipawin Minor Hockey Association, and Melfort Minor Hockey Association.

Based on Governance changes within SHA, and the North Sask Female Hockey League (NSFHL) and the South Sask Female Hockey League (SSFHL) merging into the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SFHL), the associations see an opportunity to create a regional female hockey program with surrounding communities in Northeast Saskatchewan.

Expectations are that there will be Peewee, Bantam, Midget and Midget AA North East Aces team(s) in 2018- 19 season, with Bantam AA added for the 2019-20 season, as per SHA’s 2019-20 proposals.

A joint committee will oversee the North East Aces program. Registration for all North East Aces players will commence August 1st , 2018 and the number of teams will depend on the number of registrants. Players will be asked to register on the Tisdale Minor Hockey website.

“It is a very exciting time for female hockey in Northeast Sask.” states Rob Pollon, President of Tisdale Minor Hockey, “the North East Aces program is in its fifth very successful year and the number of girls in hockey is growing. It is time to formally expand the Aces program past Tisdale and work with all surrounding communities and centers to continue to create opportunities in female hockey.”

Fans of the North East Aces can look forward to games in rinks throughout Northeast Saskatchewan, as the committee will be working with all associations involved in the female program.

More information will be released on the Novice to Midget North East Aces Jamboree being held in Tisdale on August 27th to 31st 2018, as well as the North East Aces Midget AA camp on September 8th and 9th 2018.
