Northeast AA Atom  exhibition/tournament travel team.  This team will not be in a league, but can be expected to play 40+ games, attending Tier1 tournaments and playing other Tier 1 teams throughout the province.  The objective of this team is to ice a competitive Tier 1 Atom Team consisting of players from the North-East corner of Saskatchewan.

 

Nipawin Minor Hockey Association (NMHA) has unanimously approved the proposal of a Tier 1 Atom team for the 2017/18 season. Other centers have agreed to release Atom aged players to join this team if they are successful at tryouts.  Most Minor Hockey Associations will approve the release of players that will be playing in another center within 80kms to have an opportunity to play at a higher caliber of hockey. SHA is aware of this trend in Saskatchewan as there are currently almost 10 of these teams operating outside of the larger urban tiered centers.  The team will be registered and sanctioned with SHA. 

The team will be chosen on a tryout basis from players throughout the North East. 

 

Tryouts will be held September 17, 2017.  On ice evaluations will be at 11:00 pm and an Intra-squad game will be at 2:00 pm.  All atom aged players that will be playing atom this upcoming season are welcome to attend.  Please check with your local association if they will allow releases.
